Small shifts. Big difference.
Wellness isn’t about perfection.
It’s about learning how to support your body when it’s trying to communicate with you.
Here’s my personal wellness cheat sheet - the simple things I come back to when I feel off, depleted, inflamed, overwhelmed, or disconnected from myself.
Because sometimes your body doesn’t need more pressure.
It needs more support.
Feeling Bloated or Puffy
Bloating and puffiness are often signs your body is feeling inflamed, stressed, sluggish, or overloaded.
My go-to resets:
- Increase hydration (especially minerals/electrolytes)
- Prioritise protein and whole foods
- Reduce excess sugar, alcohol, and ultra-processed foods
- Go for a walk after meals
- Sweat daily (Pilates, sauna, movement)
- Support digestion with slower eating and mindful meals
- Prioritise sleep
Wellness reminder:
Your body may be holding onto water because it feels stressed or inflamed — not because you’ve “gained weight.”
Low Mood
Low mood is often a signal that your nervous system, hormones, lifestyle, or energy levels need support.
Things that genuinely help:
- Morning sunlight exposure
- Movement (especially strength or Pilates)
- Eating enough nourishing food
- Reducing overstimulation and screen time
- Connection with people who regulate your nervous system
- Magnesium and omega-3-rich foods
- Taking pressure off yourself for a moment
Wellness reminder:
Your brain is part of your body. Mental wellness is physical wellness too.
Puffy or Swollen Face/Body
Fluid retention can be linked to stress, poor sleep, inflammation, dehydration, hormones, or lack of movement.
My go-to habits:
- Increase water intake
- Prioritise lymphatic movement (walking, Pilates, stretching)
- Dry brushing or lymphatic massage
- Sauna or sweating
- Reduce high-sodium processed foods
- Improve sleep quality
- Lower stress where possible
Wellness reminder:
Sometimes the body swells when it’s overwhelmed. Support before restriction.
Dull Skin
Your skin often reflects what’s happening internally.
Ways I support my skin from the inside out:
- Hydration + minerals
- Healthy fats
- Protein for collagen support
- Sleep
- Managing stress levels
- Daily movement for circulation
- Red light therapy or sauna
- Consistent medical-grade skincare
- Regenerative skin treatments
- Peptides.
Wellness reminder:
Glowing skin is often a reflection of a supported nervous system and nourished body.
Low Energy
Low energy isn’t always laziness.
Sometimes it’s depletion.
My energy-support checklist:
- Am I sleeping enough?
- Am I eating enough protein?
- Have I moved my body today?
- Have I had sunlight?
- Am I overstimulated or burnt out?
- Am I drinking enough water?
- Do I need rest instead of more caffeine?
Things that help:
- Blood sugar balance
- Strength training
- Morning routines
- Minerals and hydration
- Nervous system regulation
- Less scrolling, more grounding
Wellness reminder:
Energy is built through support, not constant stimulation.
Can’t Sleep
Sleep struggles are often connected to stress, cortisol, overstimulation, blood sugar imbalance, or nervous system dysregulation.
My evening reset:
- Dim lighting at night
- Reduce screen exposure before bed
- Magnesium glycinate
- Protein-rich dinner
- Consistent sleep/wake times
- Breathwork or stretching
- Avoid excessive caffeine late in the day
- Cool, calm sleep environment
Wellness reminder:
Sleep is one of the most powerful forms of regeneration we have.
Feeling Anxious or Stressed
Stress lives in the body, not just the mind.
My nervous system support tools:
- Slow walks
- Pilates and mindful movement
- Deep breathing
- Reducing overstimulation
- Less caffeine
- Getting outside
- Journaling or brain dumping
- Saying no more often
- Supporting blood sugar stability
Wellness reminder:
You cannot heal in constant survival mode.
My Wellness Philosophy
I always come back to this:
Sustain. Strengthen. Stimulate.
SUSTAIN
Support the body internally.
Nutrition, hydration, sleep, minerals, nervous system support.
STRENGTHEN
Build resilience through movement.
Muscle, Pilates, mobility, posture, circulation.
STIMULATE
Enhance and regenerate.
Sauna, red light therapy, skin treatments, recovery tools.
Because true wellness isn’t about extremes.
It’s about creating a body that feels supported enough to thrive.
And often, the smallest daily habits are the ones that change everything.
